Women Could Be Big Winners In Michigan House

Even though the election is two months away...early predictions show women as the big winners in the Michigan House. A record number of women filed for House seats this year and almost half of all races include women. And 78th District Congressional hopeful Judy Truesdell says that sends a strong message to young girls throughout Michigan. Truesdell will face off with Republican Sharon Tyler in November. "Through your fellowship and ties to the community, you can teach fellow citizens what we didn't learn in Civics 101," 78th District state House candidate Judy (Fitzpatrick) Truesdell of Niles told Dowagiac's club Thursday noon in her first visit to Elks Lodge 889.

Truesdell Announces Bid for 78th House Seat
Democratic candidate says it's time to say no to 'old school' politics

Judy Truesdell of Niles announced that she will make another run for the 78th District Michigan House of Representatives seat currently held by Neal Nitz of Baroda, who will be term limited at the end of 2008. The announcement was made at the South County Democratic Club annual picnic held Saturday, August 25 at the Galien American Legion.
